“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” – James Baldwin

As white men we need to become comfortable with identifying our prejudice. Our collective silence on the continued dehumanization of, and aggression towards, minorities speaks volumes about our lack of courage. It’s time that we rise together and be truth speakers on issues of social injustice. Silence equals betrayal.

I’ve long embraced my ability to claim color blindness on issues of race.  In truth, I was raised in a culture of hate with a perspective of supremacy. I participated in hate filled conversations and activities intended to diminish the value of black and brown lives. I’ve laughed at offensive jokes and told some myself. I’m haunted by my past behavior and disregard for human life. I’m ready to speak my truth and I hope you’ll join me.

Contact me if you would like to work together to help end the silence.
